Women & Money WIPP Event at The University of Scranton
Pennsylvania Treasurer Rob McCord partnered with Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) to host a series of events in regional hubs throughout the Commonwealth for women entrepreneurs and business owners interested in growing their companies. The University of Scranton hosted the first event on August 13, 2009.
Women business owners who attented had this to say:
“The best investment made in my business over the last six months? Attending the Treasury Department's WIPP conference in Scranton! Top notch informative presentations, personalized mentoring, networking opportunities galore ... rarely has one working day offered me such a considerable "return on investment" of time!”
Carol W. Rubel, Owner, CWR Consulting Services, LLC.
“Great thanks to WIPP, the PA Dept. of Treasury and all other sponsors for bringing together such an impressive group of women business leaders for such a practical and informative business event. The presentations provided were inspirational, insightful andmost importantly educational. I walked away invigorated, with new business contacts, new friends and with a clear plan of action.”
Anita Rose, President, ATIBA Technology Solutions
"You will undoubtedly leave the WIPP event with a wealth of information from openly straightforward successful women. Attending the WIPP event and focusing on direction given to access stimulus funds can have a direct effect on the bottom line of every women's business who attends and makes use of this valuable information."
Rita Lacey, Managing Member, Close the Loop
“I commend Treasurer McCord for launching the Women & Money Project and look forward to participating in future events. The presentations were informative and provided me with a road map for business growth in both the public and private sectors. The Women & Money project is a principal example of good government at work – providing constituents with the tools to grow their business and invest in the future.”
Cathy Hinesley, Owner, Providence Consulting
“The seminar sponsored by PA Treasury/WIPP was a terrific networking and educational bargain. The organizers assembled a panel of dynamic, informative speakers who provided a wealth of valuable information to any woman looking to expand her business, whether or not as a government contractor. I applaud the organizers for making this meaningful information available throughout the Commonwealth.”
