HARRISBURG (June 18) – State Treasurer Robin L. Wiessmann has appointed Leonidas Pandeladis, a nearly ten year legal veteran of state government, to serve as Deputy State Treasurer and Chief Counsel. Pandeladis replaces Sally Ann Ulrich, who recently retired after more than 21 years of Commonwealth service.
“I am proud to announce the addition of this new member to an already stellar Treasury staff,” Wiessmann said. “Leo is a dedicated, civic-minded individual who shares our belief that public service is a noble obligation.”
Pandeladis comes to Treasury from the Department of Agriculture, where he served as Chief Counsel since February 2005. Before joining the Department of Agriculture, Pandeladis was a member of the Governor’s Office of General Counsel (OGC), where he served in several capacities, including Deputy General Counsel and Acting Chief Counsel at the Department of State. During his time with OGC, Pandeladis served primarily as a legislative counsel to the Governor’s Office, providing legal opinions to the Governor and his Senior Staff and reviewing legislation for various Commonwealth agencies.
He has also served as Deputy Commissioner for the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs, the Commonwealth agency that provides administrative and legal support to 27 professional and occupational licensing boards and commissions.
Pandeladis graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in microbiology and political science from the University of Pittsburgh. He received his juris doctor, magna cum laude, from the Duquesne University Law School.
